Poor Broken Claire
Claire fell from wet monkey bars on Monday night. She landed on her lower arm and ended up fracturing it just below the elbow. She had a rough Monday night and Tuesday but was feeling better when these pictures were taken. The picture below was taken after she had been instructed to look sad. The first picture was taken afterwards when I told her she could look much sadder than that.
It made for a quiet few days but things are returning to typical Claire fashion. I had to tell her to get the dog's tennis balls out of her sling - this could have resulted in some serious pain. She's such an active girl, it's rather difficult to hold her back.
She just told me that she wanted everyone to know "It hurts so much I want to lay down and cry". She was also pleased that she got McDonald's that night and a purple popsicle from the hospital (this melted on our front steps and had to be replaced).
She goes to the fracture clinic on Tuesday so we'll know more then. By the way, she has been giving me the thumbs up when I ask how she's feeling. We've also been very insensitive with our jokes - when we demoted her to the lower bunk, Tory very helpfully added "Yeah Claire, we wouldn't want you to break an arm or something". Tory gave her one of her new stuffed animals to sleep with and Charlotte's tried to kiss her better.
