Some Christmas Pictures
I'll admit that we are a bit behind here. I thought I'd put these up for people to peruse at their leisure.
This Christmas, we decided to travel on the weekend before Christmas. We returned to our house on Christmas Eve which was the Sunday. This meant that we did not have to pack Christmas presents for the kids, open them down at the grandparents and turn around and cart them all back again. We have done this on multiple occasions and we always ask ourselves why? Why! WHY!! And then we usually promise ourselves that we'll not do that again next year. It's an easier promise to keep once you have that third and fourth child.
I always grapple with the whole pain in the butt thing and my need to see people at Christmas. We both like the socializing with family and friends at Christmas. We'll see what future Christmases have in store for us. The year Charlotte was born was our first stay at home Christmas since being together - we had to go out and purchase stockings.
It was also nice in that John usually has some floater days that he has off between Christmas and New Years. This year he had the whole week off and we were able to spend it quietly at our own house. Oh yeah - and we had the whole week to try to find homes for new Christmas toys instead of being overwhelmed at the time of unpacking (the day of reckoning more like it).
The children enjoyed it - even Tory. Although I must admit her picture shows a noted lack of enthusiasm. I tried to pick one that wouldn't embarrass her but I didn't want to leave her out altogether.
